Texas Ukulele Intensive Retreat May 9-13, 2012

The Lone Star Uke Fest will take a vacation for 2012. This year join us for this INCREDIBLE ukulele retreat!

Featuring Kimo Hussey & Mark ”Spanky” Gutierrrez

Limited to 15 Participants! Designed for ukulele players who really want to take their playing to the next level!

This all inclusive retreat includes: 4 nights lodging, meals, five hours of class per day and participation in open mics, house concert and browsing the market days in town.

Retreat Basics:

Spanky will lead us in ukulele calisthenics, uke theory and improvisation while Kimo will guide us in repertoire in jazz standards, pop and Hawaiian and his unique style of playing.

Wed - Meet and greet Wed afternoon at the B&B, lite dinner, a little jamming

Thursday - Classes til about 3. Breakouts, r & r till dinner time. Staff concert after dinner and then some jamming.

Friday - Classes til about 3, Breakouts, r & r till dinner time - Fish Fry Dinner & open mic

Sat - Classes til about 2 - then we will go in to town for market day. We will break into small groups and play on porches of the participating businesses.  That evening we will have dinner in town and put on a house concert open to the public. Staff and workshop attendees will play!
